Loss through miscarriage...

Loss. There is so much in that four letter word. It is the loss of a precious life, a baby that was prayed for, waited for, wanted, and loved. Loss of dreams. The loss of the opportunity of teaching him or her the love of cooking/baking, crafts, music, writing/reading, hard work, creating things with his or her hands. The thrill of swinging in a hammock on a warm sunny day with a gentle breeze and the melody of the birds. The satisfaction of hard work well done. The wonder of life, love, and God.
Loss is expecting to hear a baby's cry, a giggle, something to tell we are holding our baby. All is left is the silent tears of a mother's heart with empty arms. A home ripped of a child's joy.

Loss is the pain of the reality of infertility and the unknown for another chance to bring forth life. Loss is daring to breathe unless the dream of having another chance is gone forever.
~ "But Sarai was barren; she had no child." Genesis 11:30. ~
Barrenness wasn't unknown in the Bible times. In fact, many of God's greatest people came from barren women:
Isaac
Esau & Jacob
Joseph
Samson
Samuel
John the Baptist
In spite of the great loss of so much grief in the reality of barrenness, against all odds, God worked miracles which led the genealogy to Christ.
~ "All all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and form David until the carrying away in Babylon are fourteen; and from carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations." Matthew 1:17 ~
God has always been in the business of making beautiful things out of heartache, grief, and loss. In looking at the genealogy of Christ, He came from a line of infertility and God working miracles in the impossible. Without the first story of barrenness with Abraham and Sarah, there wouldn't be an amazing story of God giving them the promise child in spite of their disbelief. Isaac was the promise child because he was a direct line to Christ.
~ "And the Lord visited Sarah as He had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as He had spoken. For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac." Genesis 21:1-3 ~
~"He maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the Lord. " Psalms 113:9 ~
What a beautiful thought of the possibility of saying along with Sarah:
~ "...God hath made me laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me. And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born him a son in his old age." Genesis 21:6-7 ~
Loss is learning to sing...
~ "Many, O Lord my God, are Thy wonderful works which Thou has done, and Thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto Thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered."
Psalm 40:5 ~
